Internet on the iPhone is fine for casual browsing. More than that and you need a netbook at least. An iPhone not that great an option for the US. The iPhone is not supported as a prepaid in the US. You would need to get an unlocked iPhone (and know how to keep it unlocked). This is an expensive proposition. Moreover, the iPhone is not supported as a prepaid in the US. While you actually can use prepaid sims for talk and text, you cannot use prepaid sims for data. It's simply not available. If you want data on an iPhone, you would have to go on a month to month plan with AT&T or T-Mobile.Either bring the laptop or get a netbook.
