Question #1:

IRS sent letter in mail asking to confirm social and deployment dates, sound fishy?

Received an IRS letter in the mail asking my husband to confirm his social and to input his deployment dates from his 2nd deployment in 2006. It also says if we do not return the letter or fax it to "this number" we will be subject to owe the government money.
My husband has been since deployed and why are they questioning his one is 2006? Why would the IRS ask for this info?
Their website says this: "Members of the military do not need to write "COMBAT ZONE" and their deployment date on the tops of their tax returns because the U.S. Department of Defense informs the IRS about members in the combat zone."
I know the department of defense informs the IRS of deployments of certain individuals....so there is no reason for the IRS to ask my husband to "fill-in" his 2006 deployment dates and confirm his social.
We have no issues with our previous tax forms.
This sounds fishy to me.
What do you think?
I will be going to a local IRS/tax office tomorrow.

Can I delete this? I no longer use the dell printer I think is associated with this.

I need help writing a letter to a Atty. Roni Deutsch , Tax Attorney, well the rep. Atty. Christianson. we paid?

We paid Roni Deustch to help us with a Tax Levy, and the fee was $2650.00 and we paid $500 down and 450. monthly until paid. This is the deal, they were to get the levi stopped and we had to file back taxes, ok, well they started with all the letters coming in the mail every day we need your financials and update them well we sent the huge packet and overnighted it to them, and they had everything we own on it. nothing changed then they kept sending letters, say if we didn't get this to they were going to terminate our case. Also, then in the next sentence they would say, you need to be compliant with the IRS and get your taxes files, well to me the first thing was to get these taxes filed. And they could get their documents after. Well, they collected all their money, and just when I completed the taxes and got them filed with the IRS i began faxing to th em and they informed us they terminated the case because we didn't get them their documents. Our P*L well, you have got to be kidding me, they never negotiated with the IRS because they couldn't until we filed these taxes anyway, so what was their rush, they acted like it was life or death. Anyway, we asked them for our money back and they said no, i told the how can you keep our money you didn't do anything but harrass me while I was getting these taxes filed. And now you are keeping my husband's hard earned money, and you won't complete the case. They told us we could send a letter to this Christian Montgomery Atty, and ask for a refund. Well he was the one they told me to send a request to open our case and finish it. Well he denied us .. Who are they to deny us, they are worse than the IRs, they were supposed to be helping us. I am so upset, but as usual my husband wants me to send them this letter. Any suggestions. They are crooks, and do not use them, they told us the Tax debt my husband owed would be wiped out, but not true, they lied about everything. And the worst part took our money . I did all the work and all they did was send these stupid letters, wanting our financials,. well they they had them 10 days after we sent them the packet we got a request to send the information to them again I as wondering this whole time why all these letters, and now I know they began building a case to take our money from day one.
Oh, but they kept the case open until they got their money, that was ok, now when they got their last payment then they closed the case, Not funny at all I'm so upset, Does anyone have any ideas about what to say to these people who think they are God and can just take peoples money for nothing. down right robbed us. Now standing behind their Atty. brand ///// they the Attorneys decided to not complete your case because we didn't get them these documents in time. Whose time. They never negotiated with the IRS, they didn't do anything.

I recently received a registered letter to appear for Grand Jury Duty the thing is I am the primary care giver?

for my elderly parents who are in their 80's. I would like to get out of this, I am thinking of getting a doctors note from both parents doctor stating that I am their care giver which I am. What I am asking is, even if I mail/ or fax the doctors note, do they usually let people off for this, or would I have to also bring the letters in person and show this, serious answers only please.

If the states Jury duty policies differ, I am located in Chicago, also, I am not really crazy about the location I would have to go to as well. (that is not the reason I am trying to get out of it).

A GUY I KNOW JUST RECIEVED DEVESTATING NEWS ,2 different letters ,and one is from cps the other is from a state licensed doc. with a raised seal stating he is not the father of , in his mind obviously still ,his 4 1/2 year old child which to begin with he was a GREAT FATHER TO until the mother left and has WRONGLY kept him away from the child for a year and 8 days and now he gets these DNA letters and is forget it ,numb, speechless,devestated and allready packing his trucks up for a long gutwrenching road trip to the west coast ,he wants to be removed off all paperwork and reliquish ANY AND ALL rights that he doesnt have anyway to the child that he just painfully found out is not his from a lady he was with for over a decade,? he will refrain from comments about her and does not want to even deal with courts lawyers etc he just wants to sign ,fax,email etc and try to make sense of what was done to ruin his life in the pathetic bias lawed state of nj---thanX for any mature answers

How much legal trouble can my landlord get in?

Ok, so here are all the facts. I had to move out of my old apartment in a hurry. A person I know (who will remain unnamed) said that they knew someone with a place and I could move in ASAP. So I did. I never set eyes on a lease, hoping I'd sign on after the first month. I still didn't. The water company needed a lease, plus some info from me to be able to send me a bill. Sounds fine right? So, I told my landlord the day I got the notice, sent him a fax number, and he told me he would send it that day. I got my info to them, and the water stayed on. I payed my rent for the second month, still no lease. Now, a month later (here's the kicker), rent is due, and the water company is one wink from shutting off the water! I never got a bill, and they say they never got a lease! I told this to my landlord, and he told me he will not give me or the water company a lease without this month's rent, but he said 4 weeks ago he sent a lease. Not only did he lie, but he wants us out before the water gets shut off so he won't get in trouble!! I am desperately searching for an apartment because now, I only have 3 days to move out, and Monday, everything will be closed because of the Holiday! Any Help????
p.s. He also added a $70 late fee for the rent being a day late, when the first month rent was due, I was a day late- no fee. What gives??

so here is the deal last year around october i changed insurance co . my agent set us up with them on the 3rd of last month my car was stolen and all the interior was taken out airbags dashboard and all. there is body damage too. so i put in the claim the same day it happened. the car was recovered on the 5th and in pound by the police because they had to tow it. so on the 11th my insurance co picked it up from the pound and towed it to a shop. "why it took them that long i don't know but it did" according to them they requested a copy of the police report on th 4th. so i gave it a week and called them and was told that they were still waiting for the reports.so i gave it a couple more days now its the18th 2 weeks after i made my claim and they still have not given me an answer.so i call again and was told they are still waiting so i give them a couple more days. now its the 27th so i call and they say they are still waiting so i said ill go pick it up myself i get down there to pick up the reports and the police says they were ready 2 weeks ago. and all this time my insurance co has been say that the police said it was not ready. so i fax it to them. now they are asking all kinds of questions like are my wife and I married legally . the policy is in her name im an insured driver.. and asking about tickets i got before i was with them. they are saying my agent failed to report my moving violations. what dose any of that have to do with getting my car fixed? are they trying to stiff me? if so, what can i do?
i know it rasises red flags but its been a month they have had te car for almost that long. so because my agent did not look up my driving record. is that grounds for my insurence co not to pay?

Am Legally liable for lien on motorcycle?

Unfortunately I bought a bike yrs ago in NY with a lien on the title. It was old and I had no intentions of selling it. I even called the lien company and someone said there was no lien remaining. The bike was sold several times before me without issue.

I have subsequently relocted to TX and now getting it titled and registed here is an issue because it is apparently a "Title Holding State", which means they would send the title to the lien company and not me if I tried to register it.

This was a non-issue in NY because we would simply get the title mailed to us from the DMV instead of them mailing it to the lien company but TX is apparently a different story. They said they will take my NY title and send the TX title to the lien company who has never heard of me and I will have no title in my posseision. So I thought it would be best to get the title release letter from the company first so that TX would mail me the title.

I contacted the company and they asked me to fax a request for a lien release letter. But then I got to thinking...if it turns out that there is still a lien on this bike, will the company now say that the lien is my legal responsibilty because I own the bike now? I know they would have a claim to the bike and they could come get it but would I be legally responsible for the debt (i.e. affect my credit report, etc...)

I know now I shouldn't have bought it without the title clear anyway but I was much younger back then and not smart about these things. My question is could the company make me officially and legally liable for the lien (affect my credit report, etc...) if one exists?

What could they do once I fax them all my info for the release letter and it turns out that a lien does exist?

Can we please skip the "Your so supid", "it sucks to be you" and "that's your problem now" comments. This we all already know. What I don't know is what is the worse case scenario here? Does anyone know?
